36 Weeks!

Wow, it's been awhile since I've posted, sorry! We've been very busy with more baby showers, Thanksgiving, and we've been getting our Christmas decorating done this weekend.

Matt and I are so lucky that our friends and family have helped us so much in getting us baby stuff! We have so much, the nursery is just packed! We feel that we're almost ready for this baby to get here. We just need Matt home for good (2 more weeks!!) and then we'll be all set. I'll have to take some pictures of the nursery and post them on here, and of the Christmas lights that Matt worked so hard on this weekend putting up! It was pretty scary having him up on the roof for awhile, but luckily he's still here :)

Well, next week I'll be officially considered "full-term", so we'll have a baby within a month! I'll keep ya posted!

32 Weeks!

I'm just growing growing growing! I can now officially say that we're having a baby next month! Time is just flying on by.

Well not too much has been going on these last few weeks. We went to St. Leon for our first baby shower a few weeks ago. It was so great to see everyone and we got a lot of great stuff! We got our pack n play, which we already set up on our main floor :) Probably not necesary yet, but oh well! We have our 2nd shower this weekend at my dad's house in Chicago, so that'll be fun to go home for the day and see some people that I haven't seen in awhile.

Well, less than 8 weeks to go (hopefully). I have a dr. appt. this Thursday, but I'm not expecting it to be a real eventful appt., just a normal checkup. I'll check in again soon!

29 Weeks

Well, the time is just flying by! I feel like each week just keeps going faster and faster. Well a couple of weeks ago I went to do my one-hour glucose test to see if I have gestational diabetes. I got my results at my doctor appointment this past Wednesday and they were good! No GD for me! I feel very lucky to not have it and especially not to have to go take the three-hour glucose test! Being stuck with needles is just not my idea of a good time :)

So I've now reached that point in my pregnancy where I have to go back to see the midwife every two weeks now instead of every four. Once I hit 36 weeks is when I have to start going every week. The appointments are pretty quick though, so it's really no big deal. I wish Matt was here to go to the appointments with me, but he'd probably be bored anyways.

At my last appointment when the midwife was using the doppler on my stomach to hear her little heartbeat, she gave it a good punch, so she's an active little one! I can definitely feel her moving all the time, which is great just to feel that everything's okay. I'm startin to get bigger and I can kind of feel now where she is in my stomach, crazy!

Next weekend, Matt and I are going to St. Leon (where my mom is from), because my aunts are throwing us our first baby shower! We're mostly just excited to go there because we haven't been there to see that side of my family in almost 2 years! So we're definitely excited to see everyone. I'll update soon!

28 Weeks!

Week 28
Baby: Your baby measures about 10 inches from crown to rump, or a total length of about 15.75 inches from head to toe, and weighs about 2.4 pounds. Brain waves show rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, which means your baby may be dreaming. Eyelids are opening. Branches of lungs are developing, so there's a good chance that baby would survive if born prematurely now.

Mom-to-be: Your uterus extends well above your navel. As baby gets bigger and stronger this month, you may be experiencing leg cramps and mild swelling of ankles and feet, difficulty sleeping, shortness of breath, lower abdominal achiness, clumsiness or scattered Braxton Hicks contractions (hardening and relaxing of the uterus, like rehearsals for labor). You may also be urinating more frequently again as the uterus continues to push on your bladder.

WOW. I can't believe this little girl weighs almost 2 1/2 pounds already! She's going to be here before we know it! It makes me feel really good just knowing that if something were to happen, like premature labor, right now, then there would be a chance that the baby could survive. Let's hope everything goes as planned though!

So this weekend when Matt was home, he painted the nursery. I'll try to take some pictures once we have decorated a little bit more and organized some of the new baby stuff we've gotten. We are so blessed that Matt's brother Sam and our sister-in-law Nicole have given us a TON of stuff from our nieces Abby & Hannah. They gave us a whole tote full of the cutest clothes ever!!! We're lucky that our baby is going to be born in the winter so we're able to share a lot of the same stuff as our nieces since they were also both born in the winter.

Well, less than 12 weeks until she's here, which means, less than 12 weeks until Christmas!! shoot, we have to go shopping!!

26 weeks!

From babycenter.com:

How your baby's growing:The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

I'll try to post a belly picture soon!

New Blog

Well, I guess I'm going to try out this blogging thing! I mostly wanted to start this blog for when our little girl is born in December (hopefully not January!). I thought it'd be fun to have a place for friends and family to look at pictures and get updates on the little one and our family. Enjoy!
