Wow, an update!

Well the slacker mommy of the family should probably update on here! Sorry! It's been forever, but let's get on with it, shall we:) Hailey is just a huge little munchkin now, I'm not sure how much she weighs, but probably about 14 lbs. I would guess. We'll let you know after her doctor appt. tomorrow. She's 6 months old all of a sudden, we can't believe how fast time has flown! There have been SO many changes with her. She can sit up on her own now and she talks like she really has something important to say;) She loves her mommy and daddy of course, but she just won't look anywhere else when her daddy is in the room. Her favorite thing is Maggie, she just loves puppies! Anytime Maggie walks by, Hailey starts laughing. It's just about the cutest thing.

Well enough of the chit-chat, I should probably add some pictures!

2 months old!

Well, the munchkin is 2 months old now! She seems so big to us and time is just flying by! We had her 2-month appointment and she had to get her shots unfortunately. They didn't go so well. After we got home and settled, she was fussy fussy fussy, but shoot, we'd be fussy if we had just gotten poked 3 times! She's grown a ton, she's gained 5 pounds since she was born. She now weighs in at 9lbs.15oz. and she is 22 inches long. That's the 25th percentile for weight and the 30th for height. The doctor said that so far she seems to be along that 25th percentile path since that's exactly the percentile she was in when she had been to the doctor 2 weeks prior.

Hailey is definitely starting to coo a lot more and make more noises. She's much more aware of her surroundings and she's smiling all the time at us! Another great thing is that she's been sleeping through the night a lot. She sometimes goes to bed around 9-10 o'clock and might sleep until 5:30 or so in the morning. Now, of course, that's not every night, but it's great when it happens and it gives us more uninterrupted sleep. Let's hope the trend continues :) Here's a couple of pics!

7 1/2 Weeks

Hi everyone, sorry so long since the last post! We got a little lazy with taking pictures of the munchkin and I went back to work unfortunately, so I don't get to see the little one nearly enough for my liking. It's been an exciting few weeks though. Matt got the opportunity of a lifetime to go to the superbowl! He had a blast but I'm sure he missed his girls at home.

Hailey has just been growing like a weed these last few weeks. We took her to the doctor last week and she weighed in at 9lbs. 3oz. That was up from 7lbs. 10oz. at her 1 month dr. appt. We can definitely see the changes in her. She's smiling at us now and it's so fun to just coo at her and watch her light up :) She really is just a happy little baby. She has her fits though and sometimes it seems that nothing will calm her down, but we feel lucky that she's generally happy and playful. She sleeps a lot better at night now and we usually only need to get up one or two times to change and feed her in the middle of the night. Then she *usually* goes right back down :)

One Month!

Well, Hailey is one month old today! I can't believe how fast this first month has just flown by. She seems like she's so much bigger to us now! She seems to be a lot more aware of her surroundings and we think she can almost make eye contact with us now. She loves to be in her swing now and she loves to look at her mobiles and her glow worm. She is a little cuddler too!

Here are her 1 month stats:

Weight: 7 lbs. 10 oz.

Height: 19 1/2 inches

Head: 14.25"

She's really growing! She's gained almost 2 lbs. this first month. It seems like she's so big, I can't believe that babies are actually born bigger than her. I don't know how they fit inside of tummys when they're this size!

2 week stats

We had Hailey's 2 week pediatrician visit yesterday. It was good b/c we actually got to meet her pediatrician! We didn't get to meet him at the hospital b/c he wasn't working Christmas Eve, so his partner came to see Hailey. We found out some bad news about him unfortunately. He was just diagnosed with prostate cancer and is having surgery. He'll be out of the office for at least a month, so we'll see his partner for Hailey's 1 month appt. We'll pray for him that everything works out.

Here are Hailey's stats:

6 lbs. 5 oz. (up from birth weight of 5 lbs. 13 oz!)
19 inches (same as birth)
13.75 head circ.

It's great that the little one is growing! She's only in the 5th percentile for height and weight, so she's still a little shrimp, but at least she's gained a lot of weight in 2 weeks. She sure eats enough so I'm not worried!

Matt went back to work today, so I'm a little worried being alone with H so much, but we'll deal with it. Maggie helps out :)

2 weeks old

The little munchkin is 2 weeks old today! The last 2 weeks have gone by really fast. Matt goes back to work on Friday and I'm nervous to be all by myself with Hailey! I can't even think about what happens in 4 weeks when I go back to work :(.

We've had a lot of visitors in the last week. Amanda came to visit for a day and meet the little one. My dad and sister came to visit for a couple of days, which really helped us get a couple more hours of sleep! We went out to breakfast at Cracker Barrell (our favorite breakfast place since college), and took Hailey with us. It was her first time out to eat and she slept all the way through it! Thank goodness! I'm glad we got that outing out of the way b/c for the last 3 days all she's wanted to do is eat!

My pump finally came in, which is great, b/c Matt got to feed her for the first time last night which let me get a couple of more hours of sleep. It was fantastic :)

The dogs are really adjusting well to having Hailey at home. Maggie just wants to follow her around wherever she is. She loves her already!

Hailey's first week

Happy New Year! Well, I decided to make a New Year's Resolution to try to update this blog with pictures and stories of Hailey as much as I can. I really want to be able to keep everyone updated on her, so I'll try my hardest!
I'll go ahead and tell a lovely little story about our sweet little girl. Today, Hailey peed on mommy and pooped all over her room! Earlier in the day, I was feeding her and she peed out the side of her diaper and it went all over my shirt! She really loves her mommy! Then, later I was changing her poopy diaper and stepped over to stick it into the diaper genie, when all of a sudden I look over and poop just came flying out and squirted about 5 feet over! It got all over the place. What a little punk :) Luckily Matt helped me clean it up. We were then going to run some errands, so I decided to add some spot cleaner onto our list so that all her clothes don't get ruined by her spit-up and poop!
